The finest casks are used from Mackmyra Distillery to produce this exceptional product. It has been aged 9 years in American oak casks. The inside of the cask was previously ignited with a gas burner so that an active layer of charcoal was formed. The interplay between the charcoal layer and the strong peat smoke imbues the whisky with a spicy and sophisticated flavor. The name "Rök" is Swedish for smoky. However this whisky is not just smoky, but ultra smoky!
